Home for the Holidays
As the lyrics of the song suggest, there is no place like home for the holidays. The Kitchen family moved to their new home in Forsyth County earlier this year, and has experienced the ups and downs that everybody goes through after a major project. Loving and living in their home that started off with a drive through a mountain town in North Carolina. We invite you to come by for a virtual visit during this holiday season and remind you that the beauty we find in this home is not perfection but a home filled with laughter, family dinners, making beds, laundry, a few tears sprinkled in, and love.
The kitchen is the connecting piece for the entire downstairs — the hub of family life. Wide aisles and multiple workstations make this kitchen work for a busy family. Extra seating at the island and the cafe table mean a perfect spot for homework, a quick chat, breakfast or a snack.
A view from the kitchen into a favorite spot — the beverage center, coffee bar, date nook, craft table that joins the dining room to the kitchen. A custom made table with vintage inspired light fixture sets a fun tone to this out of the way spot.
Beverage station gives the real draw to this little room — coffee, espresso, wine, beverages chilled to the perfect temp.
The friend’s entrance in the rear of the home leads to this sweet and welcoming mudroom, complete with thin-brick flooring, shoe racks, lockers and a sink to wash up from a hearty day of outdoor play or, for Ben, a day at the office.
The working heart of the kitchen — a walk-in pantry with computer station, butcher block countertops, and shelves as far as the eye can see.
And lastly, the hearth and fireplace made of stone — fashioned out of respect for the original fireplace at the heart of the home in North Carolina.
We hope you enjoyed your holiday visit to the Kitchen home. At BAC, we understand the joy of bringing a project off of a sheet of paper, up out of the ground, into real life and then knowing that our clients get to do the best part — live and love the space so carefully crafted with you in mind.
Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!
