Roswell Remodel, Part 2
Work on the interiors is steadily transforming the Kray house into a modern home with an outstanding view. The kitchen, dining room, and living room are getting a completely new look and new layout. Almost every room in the main level is trading spaces with another room. The dining room is becoming the kitchen -- the kitchen & laundry nook are becoming the new great room with the dining & living rooms in an open concept layout. The wall between the old dining room & kitchen was demolished to open up the space, and the window which used to be in the old dining room was removed to provide more wall space for cabinets. Not wanting to make their kitchen a dark corner, they get more square inches of glass by adding to the great room a large picture window and 10' sliding glass door from Pella onto their wraparound deck facing the golf course.
Demolition Stage -- the wall and window are ready to go.
New drywall defines the new dimensions of the room. Ready for cabinets!
Getting the first one hung precisely ensures the rest of the cabinets look great upon install.
Ta-DA! this run of cabinets is finished. The kitchen will also have a peninsula for added storage and food prep space.
Cat nap or hard at work -- you decide! Installing the undercabinet lighting sometimes calls for creative non-back breaking solutions. The backsplash and the neutral yet elegant Soprano Quartz bring this modern kitchen to life. The light cabinets and granite will reflect light on this side of the kitchen, but the glass tile backsplash provides the right contrast to the sea of white cabinets. Perfect design!
And just to remind you what the best feature of this home is -- a quick peek at the amazing corner office with a view. Our homeowners chose 5" maple flooring from Bruce in a Natural Country finish for an easy, pristine look.
