Screen Porch, Part 2

Hot, hot, hot! This week in Atlanta is going to be a scorcher. This family is getting their relief from the summer heat just in time! Let’s cool off on the porch.

The vaulted ceiling with exposed beams + two story brick fireplace give this screened addition so much style. The ipewood planks will withstand our Georgia weather well and look beautiful doing it. The ultra-hard Brazilian wood is extremely durable & naturally insect resistant. The addition of the fireplace extends this porch’s usability year round.

The industrial styling is just the right contrast to the rustic wood panel —the perfect modern Atlantan twist. On trend wire chandelier, and a vintage bar cart create just the right vibe for dinner parties on the porch.

Screens are up! The way this outdoor space was designed provides a great step-down approach into the great outdoors. Each zone perfectly balances inside & outside. We start with the wonderful French doors connecting the interior and screen porch. From the screen porch, you can step out on the deck where the grill will be located, and then finally to the concrete driveway and from there out into the yard. Each location has its own function and connection to the rest of the home, and above all, it looks beautiful.

We collaborated with our friends EMB Landscaping to complete this backyard makeover. The new grading & retaining wall have given our homeowners a much more useful yard — at the same level as the rest of their outdoor space.

Fourth of July, here we come! This porch is ready for a party.
